Volunteer

The BC Epilepsy Society offers people the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of roles.

Board of Directors

At our Annual General Meeting each March, our membership elects new Board members who can best serve the strategic needs of our Society. Candidates’ expertise may include any of finances, fund raising, marketing, communications, event management, government relations, or understanding of epilepsy.

If you are interested in a position on our Board of Directors, please contact our Executive Director at laari@bcepilepsy.com.

Working Committees

Our Society currently has four working committees of the Board of Directors.

Our Professional Advisory Committee is a team of medical and social work experts who help our staff develop and refine resource materials and advise on medical issues of importance to the Society.

Our Fund Raising Committee works with Society staff on developing and implementing major gift solicitations and recruitment of third-party fund raising hosts.

Our Communications Committee works with Society staff to develop media messaging about our programs, services, and events.

Our Program Committee works with Society staff to develop and recommend program and service updates and pilots for Board of Director consideration.

If you are interested in a position on one of our committees, please contact our Executive Director at laari@bcepilepsy.com.

Program Delivery and Event Volunteers

Society staff occasionally needs the help of volunteers to host events such as our annual lecture series or delivery programs such as Partners in Teaching in our BC school system.

If you are interested in program delivery or event hosting opportunities, please contact any of our staff at info@bcepilepsy.com.
