Scholarships

Each year, our Society awards $1,000 scholarships to British Columbians living with epilepsy who are entering, or are in post-secondary program. These scholarships can be applied towards tuition, books, on-campus housing, or any other academic expense. To be eligible, a student must be 16 years or older, a Canadian citizen or have landed immigrant status, under a physicians' care for epilepsy, and a current member of the BC Epilepsy Society. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of educational commitment, volunteer work, and other achievements or interests.

In 2011 we awarded eight $1000 scholarships to applicants throughout the province. This was more than double the number since the first year of the scholarship program in 2003.

Find out more about our 2011 scholarship recipients in our blog. We are proud to have supported these students, and look forward to contributing to the success of many more each year.

As well, check out an inspirational story about one of our scholarship winners in Penticton Western News.

If you would like to help us fund scholarships for deserving students, please contact our Executive Director at laari@bcepilepsy.
