CTV News Features Seizure Assistance Dogs

July 31, 2008

On July 29th, Dr. Rhonda Low of CTV British Columbia reported on a growing area of support for individuals living with epilepsy. Seizure assistance dogs are gaining recognition and appreciation for their role in protecting their owners, and opening new doors in terms of independence and opportunity. Gillian Lawrence, an active member of the BC Epilepsy Society, is a great example of how far a person can go with the right kind of assistance. She and her service dog, Quincy were featured in the report, along with the Executive Director of our Society, Shawn Laari, speaking from his experience as a volunteer dog trainer with Pacific Assistance Dogs.
