Medications are usually the first method of treating seizures. Therefore, it’s important to know about the various options available and how they work. This Monday, October 19th you can learn more by attending our Speaking of Epilepsy lecture on Epilepsy Medications.  This session will feature Dr. Michael Jones, a neurologist, who will explain topics such as:

  • Finding the right medicine
  • Factors influencing drug selection
  • Stopping or starting medication
  • Side effects
  • Factors influencing treatment success
  • Importance of compliance
  • Drug interactions

This lecture will be held from 7-9 pm at the Chan Auditorium in the Education and Research Building at BC Children's Hospital on 4480 Oak Street. Public transportation information, is available here.

Lectures are $10 or free with a current BC Epilepsy Society membership. Please contact us at 604-875-6704 to reserve your seat or for more information.

Translated Epilepsy Information

Cantonese, Punjabi, Vietnamese and French
Our goal is to make our website and resource centre as comprehensive as possible. With this in mind, we are continuing to translate many of our resources into languages other than English so that more people with epilepsy and seizures can access valuable information.

Recently we significantly expanded the range of documents available in Chinese by translating 17 important Information Sheets. We're able to offer this service through the generosity of donors such as Variety – The Children's Charity.

We will continue to expand the range of translated resources into other languages including French, Punjabi and Vietnamese. You can see the variety of translated resources on our website in the Information Sheet webpage or contact our office at 604-875-6704 for copies. Click on the language icon beside the topic to view, forward and print.
