Speaking of Epilepsy Lecture Series

Your Rights and Epilepsy
The 2008-09 BC Epilepsy Society Lecture Series will begin this Wednesday the 24th with the topic "Human Rights and Epilepsy."  A panel of experts in legal and advocacy issues will be answering your questions and speaking about the protections and accommodations that people with health conditions and disabilities have available to them.  This includes discussion on topics such as employment, financial assistance, access to educational services, transportation, and housing.

Do you have a question relating to these issues?  Email it to outreach@bcepilepsy.com so that the panelists can answer it for you!

The lecture will be held from 7-9 pm at the Chan Auditorium in the Education and Research Building at BC Children's Hospital on 4480 Oak Street.  Lectures are $10 or free with a current BC Epilepsy Society membership.  Please contact us at 604-875-6704 to reserve your seat and for more information.  The lecture schedule is available for viewing and download at our website on this page.

BC Epilepsy Survey

Submit Your Feedback
Together with Leadership Vancouver, the BC Epilepsy Society has compiled a survey to be filled out by the members of our community to gather feedback as we plan our direction for the next five years. We greatly appreciate your thoughts and ideas, and we ask that you take a few minutes to fill out the survey, which you can find here. If you'd like to speak with us, or receive a hard copy, please call or email our office. Thank you!

Planned Giving

A Legacy of Support
The BC Epilepsy Society has benefited greatly through the generosity of donors who have left all or a portion of their estate to support the programs, services, and research funded by the Society.

Last year, through an estate gift in excess of $300,000, the Society's Board of Directors was able to designate future funding for scholarships, camp subsidies for kids, translation of resources, and both short- and long-term research commitments.

We encourage you to speak with both your family and personal financial planners before contacting staff at the BC Epilepsy Society.  Please consider leaving a legacy of support.
