At-Home Holiday Fun!

If you’re looking for ideas of holiday activities to do during the 2020 holiday season, check out our ideas for holiday activities that can be done at-home or virtually below:

Host a Virtual Holiday Party: Use technology to host a virtual holiday party with family, friends and loved ones. For information on options for virtual holiday parties, click here to read our blog on the subject.

Host a Virtual Games Night: Use technology to host a virtual games night with family friends and loved ones. For information on options for computer or Smartphone based online games, click here to read our blog on the subject.

Drop Off Baked Goods: Bake some holiday treats in your kitchen and package them for family, friends and loved ones. While your baked goods are in the oven, you can also make holiday cards to attach to each box of treats. Then, all that’s left is to do is to head to the houses of family, friends and loved ones to do a physically distanced drop off of your baked goods.

Holiday Movie Night: Use the Netflix Party extension on Google Chrome to host a holiday movie night. This extension allows you to sync a show or movie on Netflix with family, friends and loved ones. Check out some of the holiday shows and movies on Netflix herePlease note that everyone watching must have a Netflix account.

Look at Christmas Lights: If the weather is good, you can go on a walk around your local neighborhood to look at Christmas lights and make things even more fun by voting on your favourites. If you are on a walk with people outside of your immediate household, please ensure that you are physically distancing from those not in your immediate household.

Drive-Thru Holiday Events: Most, if not all, holiday events have been cancelled, however, some drive-thru holiday events are still happening. If you live in British Columbia and are located in the Lower Mainland, there are two drive-thru holiday events that you can go to such as PNE Winterlights in Vancouver and Glow Christmas in Langley.

Do Holiday Crafts: Doing a holiday-themed arts and crafts project is a great way to have fun during the holiday season. Try Googling “Holiday Craft Ideas” to find many amazing ideas.

Make a Commemorative Ornament: You can make an ornament to remember the 2020 holiday season by using salt dough and making a handprint or cookie cutter ornament. Don’t forget to decorate your ornament and write the year in paint. To learn how to make a commemorative ornament, try Googling “Salt Dough Ornament” to find a recipe and instructions.

We hope that our ideas help you have some at-home holiday fun!
