Core Competencies |
 |
Part of the current strategic plan of the BC Epilepsy Society is a focus on networking with other organizations. To this end, the Board of Directors and staff identified the core competencies our Society has that we can share with other organizations. We want to learn from other organizations.
We believe our core competencies are:
Information & content development: Our Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) processes for identifying, developing, and verifying information are reliable and standardized ensuring quality and accuracy.
Information dissemination: We deliver current and accurate information in a variety of formats.
Professional client support: Staff accreditations and skills, along with those of our PAC members ensure we're able to deliver professional quality support and services to our constituents.
Engagement with medical community: PAC members and staff engage us with the medical community effectively, and with a high degree of credibility.
The BC Epilepsy Society Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers are committed to improving our Society continually. To that end, we are guided by the following principles:
By verifying information through our volunteer Professional Advisory Committee of medical, nursing, psychology, and social work professionals, we provide reliable, up to date, and relevant epilepsy information and resources.
We focus on providing programs, services, and resources that continually make a marked and positive difference for people living with epilepsy. We provide resources in the six most common languages spoken by our constituents.
We continually upgrade and initiate programs and services to keep pace with new research and constituent needs.
We nurture a staff team that delivers exceptional social service support for the day-to-day needs of British Columbians living with epilepsy and their families.
We collaborate with an ever-increasing network of the best epilepsy, medical, and social service providers as we serve our constituents at a world-class level.
We partner with other leading organizations to fund epilepsy research in British Columbia.
